This was the first big project I did. Hell, one of the only large projects I'd done even five years later. The idea was simple: making a foot-themed magazine around a bunch of Nintendo properties. Good idea, meh execution. I'm going to commentate as we navigate each page. PAGE 2: I think the interview portions hold up pretty real. Well, the first-hand accounts to be more precise. Nothing amazing, but I can see it still getting one aroused. But the visual design leaves a lot to be desired. For example, why is there a random sign in Dutch on Page 3 of the standard magazine? Because I just wanted to flex having knowledge of that language, even though it should've been in English. Hell, on the same exact page, you see レビュー written. That's "review" in Japanese (rebyû). No western person is going to get that, and there's no Japanese version of the magazine, so why did I do it? PAGE 4: I do kind of like that Adeleine picture. Though I'm surprised I fucked up her name every single time. Because they don't say it aloud in Kirby 64, I always read it as "Adeline". Nowadays, I know how to pronounce her name. And at least I've given her and her feet justice by drawing her exceptionally well in 2022. Unfortunately, that Kirby 64 trivia above is ruined by the jokes. Gosh, especially the whole "edit by Slaweel Ryam" thing. Yeah, it's a Chris Chan reference, back when I was really about making fun of the fool. I was a 16-year-old at this time, and I'm glad I grew out of this immature phase for the most part. Oh, the idea behind all of this was that these characters are actors portraying themselves in the games. Did you watch House of Mouse in the early 2000s? Think of it like that. Which is something I'm perfectly fine with as it gives a good justification for someone bouncing across various Nintendo "universes", treating them all like little studios. PAGE 5: I don't know why the little N64 button combo is down there. Maybe I'd been trying Majora's Mask on Wii VC again, and that was one of the songs. I don't know. PAGE 6: What a surprise. I forgot I drew Zelda in her Link to the Past form, which is my favourite version. Compared to what I've done in 2023, this is absolute shit, but the feet don't look too half bad. It's definitely an area where you can tell my writing has gotten better. PAGE 7: Bonnie shouldn't have full breasts given her age. This is something I genuinely did not understand until recently. I didn't know that girls only developed breasts during puberty; I thought they always had them big like that. That's what happens when you allow boys to run around shirtless yet never girls. But that's a whole other sexist rant I could go on. PAGE 8: Odd to advertise a Super Nintendo game of all thing. The Switch was out for a year, so I should've gone with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. But I bet I know what made me choose this one: SMK gets a lot of hate just for being the first Mario Kart and 2D. People really hate flat tracks in this franchise, considering they also blindly hate Mario Kart Advance. I love both of them. In fact, I like them more than Mario Kart 64 and Double Dash. PAGE 11: Forgot I drew Vivian so early too. Damn, I drew a lot of characters earlier than I remember. I gotta say, I fucking love her Italian name so much. Ombretta. It sounds so lovely and works in a shadow pun. PAGE 16: I love how Iris' trivia is that she made her debut in the Pokémon game that took advantage of DSi enhancements. And yet I used a badly transparent PNG of the original DS model. PAGE 17: Dialogue aside, this is easily the best illustration in the whole magazine. It's somewhat competent, from the posing to her expression. I couldn't have chosen a better character. PAGE 18: At this point in writing, I haven't gotten to placing Rosalina within my whole Mario canon. She's yet to appear in Toadette's Story. That said, we'll see if her feet truly have a fresh smell by the time I figure her out. They might... Some people think I hate Rosalina. I never hated her. I just really find her boring in what little personality she has. She's stoic and she talks slow, but people lust over her because she's big. That is it. PAGE 21: Speaking of Toadette's Story, little did you or I know that this one throwaway page would be the spark of my Mario images having a whole storyline. All because I chose to remake this. --- And that's about it. I could comment on some Final Remix stuff. For example, I chose some Fire Emblem character to draw for the cover page. Lucinda, Marth, whoever the hell. I'm surprised I was nice enough to include an FE character. The magazine is lower resolution because I wanted to massively compress the size, but there were better ways of going about it. As is, it's very blurry, even on a mobile phone screen. A lot of things take on a winter theme since it came out in December (rushed). I think it enhances the Dawn/Iris section with the little design underneath. Peach's image has a proper background now, though the perspective is borked. Misty gets a unique image. I gotta say, I love the first panel of the tongue going between the toes. Especialy when combined with the description "I was rewarded with a handful of salt". Nowadays, I would've gotten way more creative, but sometimes it's the simple things that get a stronger reaction. The old cover image was reworked into a standard page, where Dawn's scarf and hat are now red. Not too crazy abou tthis, especially the badly-wrapping background in which I see only one Sinnoh creature (Cherubi), but whatevs. At least it's still included. Ah yes, 2019. Because I knew there'd be a stigma if I tried to go into a big field with all this foot art behind me, I was thinking of calling it quits in 2019. Ultimately, we know that that didn't happen. Maybe I was already too deep in the game, or I'm still delusional and thinking I can be decently large with this catalogue of erotic content. But if anything, continuing foot art has improved my drawing skills a lot. And now I'm better at drawing the overall body. I wonder how much this warning message scared people, as I know I'd posted similar news onto my DeviantArt page. I'm glad I didn't quit. Because those who thought I sucked would've had ammo to keep insisting that my work wasn't shit. And nowadays... Well, I'm sure plenty still do that. I haven't visited that Foot Fetish Booru place in about two years after some drama a server user caused when I was posting (it just wasn't worth the effort), but it seems the general consensus is that I'm still not great. Hell, when I post things on Derpibooru, other foot images get upvoted while mine are constantly downvoted HARD. People just hate me and my art for some reason. But I know I'm competent enough now in a way I wasn't in 2018, 2019 or 2020. So even if they dislike what I do, I still know I'm doing way better than they'd ever do. Continuing onward, Mimi from Super Paper Mario gets a page. Eh... Mildly makes up for that awful image in the Sapphire folder. Not too much is different from that point onward. Overall, like I said, I consider this a failed project. The concept still holds potential, and I'm sure I could do a much better one nowadays. Though I don't know if I'd want to take the plunge, not unless I was sure I could make a profit. While I could do all this free stuff back in high school, I'm 21 years old now. I need money. So certain larger projects need higher paywalls or even a subscription if I'm to continue. If not, then the trade-off is time. A much slower production.
